Prizes and Commendations

The annual Presidents' Predoctoral Prize was awarded to Maite Taboada, Univ. of Alberta, for her paper 'Lexical cohesion as a measure in generic analysis'. Commendation in this competition was awarded to Toshiko Yamaguchi, Univ. of Essex, for 'Icelandic auxiliaries Hafa and Vera'.

The annual Presidents' Postdoctoral Prize (for young untenured scholars) was awarded to Carita Paradis, Univ. of Lund, for her paper 'Adjectives and boundaries', with commendations to Stefan Engelberg, Bergische Univ., for 'Verb meaning as event structure' and Regina Pustet, Univ. of Munich & Univ. of Colorado, for 'Split intransitivity in Lakota'.
